You know him well enough now to know some of the difference between his cries. Is it a "I'm in pain" cry, or a "I just wanna be held cry?" If he's just seeking attention, by all means give it to him, but each time you do, lengthen the amount of time at which you intervene in between cries.

Example: Child starts crying. You pick him up and he stops. You hold him for a few minutes and then put him back down once you establish that he is comfortable and doesn't need anything.

He starts crying again. You wait 3 minutes before repeating the process. If he continues through another cycle, you wait 5 minutes... 7 minutes.. 10 minutes... you get the idea.

The concept is, eventually he will fall asleep, and you won't have to feel like you had to ignore him.

Yes as long as you know that they are fine and you know that they don't need anything, ( you have made sure they are dry, they have eaten, don't seem sick etc.) because take it from me if you don't they will be 4 before they will go to sleep without an act of congress, take my word for it, I learned the hard way, I aged 20 years it felt like in those few years and me and my husband became strangers, so yes if they are okay let them learn what beditme is. Good luck!

If the baby was a bit older, it would be okay. A 4 month old, though, needs lots of attention. Let him fall asleep with you holding him.

It's o.k to let him cry if you know he is well fed and he isn't wet.But always always check on him to make sure he's crying just to be crying,he could have gas or anything. But if you know he's alright I don't see aproblem with it,it's actually good for his little lungs.

If you are talking about just a few minutes , then I wouldn't see much harm. But if your talking an hour or more I feel that would be cruel and would try other things as singing or playing music......

He's too young, he wants snuggles. He's used to having you close by. It's too early for him to sleep by himself. If you don't want him to sleep in your bed, cuddle him or nurse him to sleep.

depends on the situation... and it could be a stage.

Catering to hi every time he cries will only make him dependent on your attention in order to sleep.
