Ya. It just means you grew in one area too quickly. I'm 13 and I have some, and so do my friends.

Is the 13 year old overweight or a little on the heavy side? Sometimes eating too much meat could be a problem too. I used to be overweight when I was a teenager, and I had stretch marks on the inside of my arms and legs. I went to the doctor's and he told me to work out more and eat less meat. Since then, my stretch marks are gone. I guess anyone is capable of having stretch marks, it's nothing big to worry about in a 13 year old because he/she is still a growing child. However, make sure that they don't get any worse. Try to be more active and keep a well-balanced diet.

Totally normal..

Stretch marks can happen on anyone -especially- to someone going through puberty. It's just the skin being stretched so fast from body's growth that the collagen (a connective protein in the skin) that would normally allow the skin to stretch and accomodate more body bulk, lags behind in production and lets the skin break causing those ugly purple lines.

They should fade significantly over time, probably a year to a year and a half. : )

TIP: it would be a good idea to invest in some cocoa butter (a yummy smelling body creme/lotion) to apply to problematic areas to reduce the marking before it gets worse.

Yes, stretch marks are just from your body growing faster than your skin. It just takes time for the cellulite to get to that area to make it look normal. One thing that I tried that worked was using a skin firming lotion and exercise. Hope this helps.

Ex: When u blow up a baloon then poke it .... after the air comes out the baloon has a weird streched up texture thats the same with human but not as drastic!

Yes because of growth spurts and hormonal changes that may affect your appetite. U can purchase scarzone or something similar to help fade them

Yes, if you are growing too fast for your skin to keep up. It's nothing to freak out about. I had them quite bad, but I hardly notice them anymore. They are really, really faint.
