Those terrorists have been operating out of Lebanon for a long time, and Lebanon has not stopped them. Israel isn't going to just sit there and take, thank God! Israel is going to wipe out that particular group of terrorists, and they deserve our full support. They're the only ally we can count on in that part of the world.

I can't fault Israel for protecting her borders and people. It's what a nation does.
The palestinians and Hamas and Hezbollah have been poking and picking at Israel and they have taken more than they should have to. They could easily EASILY obliterate every other nation in the middle east. But they hold back. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. You poke a snake too many times and eventually you are gonna get bit.
I would not be shocked to wake up tomorrow morning or the next to find that either Iran or Israel has fired a nuke. I hope I don't wake up to that, but I would not be shocked.

I also am a Christian, but that has nothing to do with this. I'm so saddened by our inability to simply try to understand one another and live in peace. Yes, kidnapping Israeli soldiers was an act of war, but there is a legal ideal of meeting force with like force. In other words if someone hits you with their fist you cannot defend yourself by turning an AK47 on them. This is what Israel has done, they have retaliated with far more force than justified by the action of a few Lebanese. It's escalation. They have a right to defend themselves, but they do not have a right to start a full scale war. Of course neither did the US have the right to start a full scale war with Iraq....but we did....and now the entire region is in even more turmoil than before. Please, no more taking up arms and knocking sense into anyone. As a Christian you should know that Christ preached peace, love, forgiveness no matter what. He would not let Peter defend him when the soldiers came to take him to his crucifixion. Being a Christian means following His teachings and living a life that reflects His example. Think about it.

Yes, people have such short memories....
The Jews faced eradication in word war 2, but within a few years of liberation and empowerment by the 'allies', they began and continue to suppress other peoples' of the region, in a way that destroys my faith in humanity. If religion is what all this is about, and most religions claim the same values ...love ....peace ....goodness ....honesty ....morality .....etc., then - am I missing something here?...or are all sides in this conflict nothing but hypocrites? Whilst the Jews have suffered through history, why do they seem incapable of accepting that others have too? And why do they, (with the power of the U.S. behind them), use their power over others in a way that will only draw comparisons with the way their people were treated only a few decades ago?!

hello freind
u said u are christian
i am a muslim
and i treat u all the same. we are all equal. but what is happening overseas between lebanon and israel is something big, out of our hands. hezballa has kidnapped two israel soldiers thats why israel is hitting lebanon, the airport and all. my father is there, among other family members. the fight has been going on for years, and i know it will not stop. this is the way they understand to fight, they cannot be civil. i am very disapointed at this world and how it has turned out. only in a perfect world will war not exsist.
i wish u love happiness and joy my freind

What a ##### surprise that Israel is again a "Victim".They have bombed Lebanon. Sure that was for #++~+# self defence too. And America? we are very quiet.
Can somebody tell me what is it about the Jews that for centuries they have been hated? thats way way deep man. Are there any other people in the world who are hated more than the Jews and to some extent Muslims?

I too hate the thought of war. What bothers me even more is that most wars being fought today are over religious beleifs. It is unfortunate that so many people of faith are so intolerant of one anothers beliefs. However, I feel it may be very simple.
As long as there continues to be conflicting esoteric religious beliefs about the world and the way things are, there will be bloodshed. Especially between the western world and Christianity and the Islamic faith.

I think we as Americans have an obligation to stand by Israel,,SO I say that we move all Israelies over here and let the Palistines have the place!! America should have done that a long time ago and saved alot of bloodshed!!the worst bloodshed is that which is made because of religon!! If religon is so great how come so many people are dieing because of it???????????

Lebanon had fired rockets into Israel....does this provacate the use of force by the Israeli Armed Forces....you bet your butt it does...their territory is under attack and they have the right to protect their lands and their populous..
The Americans have enough to worry about in Iraq and other hotspots in the war on terrorism; the Israelis are taking care of business....the world should be more forth coming in this war on terrorism and get off the backs of those that are bravely and willingly dying to protect others......

I think Israel has every right to defend it's self. Lebanon has done nothig to curb Hezbollahs' activities there and now they choose to shoot rockets into civilian towns. Israel hasn't directly targeted civilians as Hezbollah does all the time. I regret the civilian losses as much as you but unfortunalely it happens in war, and I hope this can come to a quick resolution.
