Why is Joe Biden's "righteous" indignation pathetic?

I would say "bathetic" instead of "pathetic."

Biden wants to be President, and it doesn't look very likely because he looks so minor league compared to Hillary or Al Gore. So he is squeaking and prattling and trying to get headlines anyway, but his "righteous" act doesn't convince anyone at all.

It he weren't so obviously phony and status-seeking, he'd be funny doing this.
