If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Yes, and Don't! It makes your skin become very dry, which causes it to produce even more oil, thus making acne worse. Try going to a dermatologist or a cosmetologist, and ask which products work best for that problem. Acne also varies from person to person, so it's best to ask for a professional advice before using a product that might cause more damage to the skin.

alcohol can be considered a chemical and acually burn your skin, making the condition worse. See a good dermatologist and stay hydrated by drinking lots and lots of water. For some of us this is a sign of built up impurities in the body. When was your last bowel movement? If it has been more than 3 days, follow up.

My health teacher said that was all people needed to use, but that does not really work for most people. At least I don't think so. It dries out the skin and makes your face red. I guess it could help some people. But I would use a good oil free moisturizer too.

I know from experience that alcohol will dry your delicate skin out. It's especially bad for teens that have acne. It'll actually produce more natural oils to come out and eventually cause more acne.

Clarifying lotions used to have alcohol, but they don´t do a thing for acne.
I tried everything, even toothpaste. Nothing works but to keep your skin clean.

If you are thinking of external, yes, it will help to dry out the acne. If you are talking about internal, forget it.
