His sister and I have different personalities: she's outgoing, social, loves to go to clubs, bars, partying, fashionable, loves shopping, flirting, and requires lots of attention; I'm more reserved, like to spend time to myself or just with my b-friend, like watching movies, reading, writing, creating art, listening to music, shop mostly online, don't like flirting or stealing the spotlight, not very fashionable, just like to hang with a few friends and occasionally go out for drinks. She always gets mad at me for not calling her right back or wanting to get together with her when SHE wants to. My b-friend always takes her side when she's upset and accuses me of being paranoid and trying to make him choose between family and me. I just want him to sometimes take my side when she's in the wrong. I've tried to "mend" things with her often, and she'll blow me off. She seems to be into drama - there's a big drama-event (whether it's me or not) every month. I'd like to be her friend.....

We've been together for 5 yrs, and we've been living together for 2-1/2 . Also, he's asked me to marry him! Everything else in our relationship is okay. When we first started dating, me and his sister were friends, but after a while, I realized she wants to be the one calling the shots. She's very manipulative and controlling, and interferes in OUR relationship very often. If she's not getting the attention or the control she wants, she'll act out somehow, to immediately bring the focus back to her. This cycle has been repeating itself since the beginning (I just didn't realize until later). She gets mad if I don't drop whatever I'm doing at the time and entertain/accomodate her - which gets old after awhile! It's like being responsible for a kid! My b-friend vents about her often when she "acts out" - he knows it's childish behavior. I asked him to stop enabling her and to not entertain her manic episodes. This has caused so much stress for us, I'm wondering about marrying him...
