I'd be out of debt by the end of the day, and rolling a Lexus. The next morning, I'd call up some friends randomly and we'd go see the world, baby!

I read this question last night.....but i decided to sleep on it before attempting an answer. Turns out i didn't have a good night's sleep. I don't remember any of my dreams.....but i suspect i was really busy counting all that money you just gave me. Thanks, by the way!
So how would i spend it.....?
A lot more conservatively than you might predict.
First thing is i would move to Australia. I want to live in a country with nice people, great looking woman, tons of interesting things to do (so far it could still be Canada).....*and* no winter (nope, we'll always have that here). I would buy a decent house in a decent neighbourhood, some nice cars, lots of nice toys.....and still have the bulk of my windfall left.
With that i would invest in a variety of projects, ranging from the conventional to the less-than-conventional. But i would definitely invest in local business (i might even start one myself), and i would definitely allocate some of it as seed money for people with a dream.....just not the resources to realize it.
So, in other words, i would have a comfortable lifestyle.....and keep myself busy enough so i'd never get bored.
*And* i'd be sure to bring my friends over to visit me.
(Your room is already picked out, by the way. You get the one with the "en suite"!) (And the stereo!)

1. Pay off house, car, and student loan
2. Divy some out to family
3. After some time to think it over, buy a home or 2 that are not too big (too much for me to clean and I don't want to waste $$ on a maid).
4. By a vehicle that I actually want instead of one I can afford.
5. Put $ away for kids college and set up a trust fund of sorts for them.
6. Invest a lot
7. Take interest I make and give it to charity
8. Use rest to vacation whenever I want

I would first buy an Ipod Mini then I would put 100 000$ away for university and then 400 000$ away for a house, and then I would help my family pay off any debts, then I would spend the rest on vacationing at Six Flags, Ceder Point, Kentucky to visit my pen pal, Florida (and Disney World), and then I'd spend the rest on a vehicle and give some to my grandparents and they could spend it as they wish.. :)

You find a way to get me $40,000,000 and I will spend half on YOU right off the top. Then 10,000,000 on my retirement party (everyone on here is invited by the way) then I just live off the rest.

I've never ever thought about it... not when I am a broke freelance writer...
1st hire a lawyer. (Don't want everyone knowing who won)
2nd give 10% to charity.
3rd pay off debts, mine and the boyfriend's.
4th give money to my parents, my brother and SIL, my best friend and her 5 kids, my other friend, and my boyfriend's children and grandkids.
5th fix my house, replace the windows with energy efficient windows, the lawn with "grass" like at Wynn's casino in Vegas,
6th go to Vegas, drop a couple K, marry my boyfriend now that debts are paid.
7th buy a Chrysler 300 touring in Navy used, practical saves 5k,
8th find a cabin at the lake for weekends
9th invest so that I can continue to make money, give to charity, have time to write books, and go to Vegas, and other vacations.
Then I could also give $100 tips to people who need it. Support more children in Mexico.
No seriously I haven't really thought about it at all..

Ok, if I win 40 million, figure I clear about $24 million after taxes. From that, I would first give money to the church my mother had worked for before she died, so they could go forward with their planned memorial garden. Then I'd pay off all the bills of my family, my sister, and all my wife's brothers and sisters, as well as her parents. We aren't in bad shape as a family, so I figure I'dbe left with 22 million after all that. The would come the serious planning...
I'd set aside trust funds of 1 million for each of my daughters, and $200,00 for eacch niece and nephew. That's another four million. I'd set aside 2 million for retirement. That planning takes us to 16 million. I'd then make a charitable gift of 1 million to my college for a scholarship. We'd give 1 million to animal shelters and charities for that. I'd give 1 million to our church, and a million to my dad and my wife's parents. That gets us down to 11 million.
I'd keep my job, and my wife might keep hers as well, but the summers would be our time, since I am a teacher. I'd buy a house at the beach, and a new house in northern MD or southern PA with a lot of land. The two houses would be about 4 million together, based on current prices. I'd buy my wife a Corvette and Mini Cooper, while I got myself an Audi Avant and a Ferrari. Those car pruchases would be less than million, so we'd buy some other toys like that to make it about a million and half. That leave 5 and half to spend on travel, and to keep in accounts for fun until we retire. Oh, I'd need to set aside a couple hundred thousand for weddings for my girls.

well I'll pay all my bills, left my job and laugh at my stupid manager who thinks shes the best but shes not. Then I'll move to India where my bf is, we'll get married, buy a big house, travel around the world. Then I'll invest some of the money and the rest to the bank.

1) Pay off all my debts
2) Make sure that my folks were provided for.
3) As I work in retail management, I would not, under any circumstances quit my job. I would like the satisfaction of being able to go to work every day, and being beligerant back to the people that I have smiled through my teeth at for so many years, and be able to say to them, "...you know, I REALLY don't need to do this..."
