I understand your plight. Hemmorhoids are miserable enough....let alone that in addition to being full-term pregnant.

4 years ago, when I was pregnant and delivering my 9lbs, 5oz baby boy.....OMG...I develped 5 major hemmorhoids, that hurt and itched, and burned, and it was bad. I thought after delivery, they would shrink and self-resolve. But by my 6 week post partum appointment, they still were there. Like they were there to stay. So I opted for surgical removal. I tell you, it was the most HELLISH experience of my life. I'd rather birth a dozen kids than go through that again. Let's just say that the pain at its worst, I was taking 13 percocet a day!! Avoid the surgery if you can.

After having my 2nd child, I developed 2 more hemmorhoids. But I just treat them now with OTC meds. Like tucks pads. I don't mean just cleansing with them. Sometimes after my shower, I would fold the pad in half, and just 'tuck it up in there" (sorry if that's TMI ). And leave it for 10 min or so. And I'd feel SO SO much better. My doc also Prescribed me some Analpram, and that really helped too.

Some women are more prone to them than others. And for some they shrink back after the pressure of the baby is gone. For others, they become a lifelong reminder of childbearing.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better after delivery.

Don't be embarrassed, hemorrhoids are very common in both sexes whether it be internal or external. When they do flare up they do cause a great deal of discomfort and you are doing the right thing by taking sit baths and using cream. I suggest using a hemorrhoids cream with hydrocortozone in it, this seems to speed the healing process up. Once you have a hemorrhoid they just don't go away. Constipation and and diarrhea both can make a flare up occur. Each alot of bran in your diet this also helps keep you regular.

Oh you poor thing. i know they are horrible, through the pain a friend of mine endured. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Most women do get them when they are as far along as you (heck, some have it worse and have it longer than you have left!!!) However, the bad news is they most likely will not really go away completly until after the baby is born. Keep doing what you are doing, try epsom salt in your bath. It is just the pressure of your near-term baby getting ready to make its presentation on the world, and your poor bodys reaction to that pressure!

Good Luck, and congrats!

Just wait until after you deliver, my hemmorhoids were horrible after that. Your hemmorhoid will be around forever. Everyone has them, but they don't always drop. Just keep putting creams and try witch hazel pads, They help take the swelling down, but they never completely away.

Want my remedy?
Noxema.
I use it if it pops and it has a cooling sensation, not any uncomfortable burniing.
I " cleanse" every time. They stay away. Been using this for years, since '60s. Don't remember the last time I've had a problem.
Never take a trip without it. WORKS!

It's a normal part of pregnancy. You will probably have it until a couple weeks after you give birth. They have sitz bathes at most hospitals to help you with that after you have your baby. They may also give you Tucks pads. They help sooth! Mine went away after a couple of weeks but some people may have to have a procedure done to fix them.

Hope your baths aren't to hot, and sit on an ice pack. You'll probably be blessed with them until after the birth...

It is normal, I received mine from pushing in labor, if it doesn't return back in, you can have surgery to have it removed, I would wait till after your baby is born, to see if any more fissures come, and see what the doctor suggests then.

Sorry.
But now that you have developed one, you will probably have them off & on throughout your life.
Talk to your doctor. There are things you can do to minimize the problem.
