Drink plenty of water. Also, you may want to switch lotions...a good one to try for super oily skin but helps moisturize and kills the shine is Pore-Fection from Avon. That skin care line is really good and in the summer especially, my face gets extra oily too but since I don't want to go without any face lotion, I use that moisturizer. If you use the cleanser, masque (once a week) and the toner and moisturizer it helps keep your face matte, not as oily and prevents pimples. The moisturizer has a touch of salicylic acid so it helps with pimples you already have and helps prevent new ones but it also helps moisturize skin. I really like it plus, it's pretty reasonably priced. Good luck!

Oh, one other thing to remember, don't overwash your face either as this strips your skin from natural oils and therefore, you end up more oily in the end. Wash morning and night only. Oil blotting sheets (Clean and Clear) also help to soak up oil from your face throughout your day.

If your soap is drying your skin, your skin is likely producing more oil.
Try a gentle soap/cleanser like Neutrogena fragrance free or purpose.
If you don't feel clean enough with this, try an exfoliant cleanser once a day (I use Neutrogena...it's blue w/blue beads in it).
Watch what is in your lotion....it should be non-comedogenic and oil-free. Again, Neutrogena makes a good one (some of theirs have SPF in them!), so does Oil of Olay (but make sure it's OIL FREE, non-comedogenic). These are all dermatologist-approved, by the way!
It could also be that your body is changing, which happens as you get older (25 is a big body changer for many women), and hormone fluctuations can also do this.

Just read the other responses...Clean & Clear sheets are good, but watch out for their other products, which often contain an ingredient you will find in Drain-O. (I'm not kidding!) This will strip the skin.

Stop using the soap that dries you out and then adding lotion. Instead, use something easier on your skin to wash your face. Read labels on products.

If you still have oily skin, maybe your chemistry has changed - look for products made for oily skin. Keep a tissue handy and blot the oil from your skin a few times a day to keep it from building up and creating pimples.

Don´t use soap, it dries your skin. Use a cleanser such as Cetaphil (available in drugstores) and don´t use any lotion (I don´t think you will need it if you use Cetaphil).
There are also some moisturizers from Avéne that are for oily skin, get the matifiant products that reduce oil and shine.
And don´t wash it more than twice a day because you will dry it a lot. If it´s very oily use only water to clean.
Good luck!

Have you tried using a different soap? Not all soaps will dry your face out. Depending on how long you want to work on your face. I say try a different brand first. If that doesn't work there is always specialty places in the mall. The dead sea scroll place, in Tampa, FL sells a black bar for $10. It sound like a lot but it has helped my face and I simply do not use my body soap (like Ivory) on my face.

Good Luck.

Is the lotion oil based? Maybe your skin already has enough oils that lotion is only making it more greasy? I would stop applying it to the oil prone areas...if not find a water base face lotion and use every night but not in the morning.

Get a professional facial, and eat less oily foods. Try using a soap like Dove.

OK I am an Avon representative and I need to say DON'T use soap on your face! Use a skin cleanser and a toner before applying moisturizer. You need to choose products designed for your skin type. I can help you if you want to contact me at vickiv13@peoplepc.com. I can send you a brochure and free sample if you would like.

Wash often with Ivory soap or one of the better alternatives at a health food store. READ THE LIT FIRST!
