for about a week, i have been experiencing weird instances where the food i eat... has a sweet taste, although i know it doesnt or it shouldnt. i was trying to eat a burrito the other day, and it tasted like it had sugar in it. then.. a few minutes after that, i tried eating some chicken and the same thing happened. days after that... different things i tasted had a sweet taste to them... not necessarily food only. i put my hand to next to my mouth, and it tasted sweet... i licked my lips because they were dry, and same thing happened... i read it might be associated with diabetes... does anyone know anything else it might be. serious answers please.

It is not necessarily the primary symptom of being diabetic...do you feel overly thirsty lately? That is the question. That is the primary discovery that you may be diabetic. Other than that, people come into hospital via ambulance because they have been found in a coma- diabetes induced...because they were not yet diagnosed diabetic.
I know that most diabetics also have a sweet scent from their skin and their breath smells sweet too. Best bet to get checked out love :)

I have not had this experience, but I can't wait to see some good answers. Both of my parents have diabetes, so it could be something I need to be ready for. That is, of course, if they are related. Thank you for the question -- sorry I do not have the answer.

Could be diabetes...tell what to do...urinate in a cup, and find someone to taste it. If it is sweet, then see you MD. Sorry, but this is very serious. This is how they used to tell if someone was diabetic...do you own research

Do you have a cold? That sometimes makes things taste funny to me. For sure though, see a doctor.

I don't think diabetes but you may want to have it checked. Very unusual and may indicate an important change in your body chemistry.
