Alright people I dont want people to think christians dont like everyone but I have a right to say what I feel about the matter and My opinion is saying that as a christian you can't be gay/lesbian and go to heaven and that is my point and just want to know what people feel about it and don't make little comments saying that I'm rude for my question I kind of don't care that you think that.

I feel pretty darn good about being a lesbian. Sure life is easier when you're straight, but life is easier as a white male as well. The greatest joy is overcoming a challenge or struggle. It builds character. I do not like all homosexuals. I've met some gay people who do not respect other people for being straight, they are no better to me than a straight person telling me Im not really a lesbian but confused or tricked by the devil.

The cold hard facts are this: Homosexuality has been practiced and celebrated in most cultures as far back as humans have existed. Longer than Christianity, longer than the bible. Many cultures not only tolerated but embraced or encouraged homosexuality, and yes that is a fact.

When reading the bible you can interpret things in many ways. Some say homosexuality is condemned I do not think so. I'll provide a link later for more info in that respect. But I have yet to find anything about homosexuality in the bible, not accompanied with promiscuity, prostitution, adultery or rape. But I'm continuing my reading.

Even if it is condemned in the bible, many things are condemned in the bible, or promoted that we no longer believe today. Things change. There prolly was a reason for these "rules" in those times. For example when tribes and villages etc were trying to be more powerful by increasing their number, it was encouraged to have as many off spring as possible...so not procreating was harmful to THAT society. We don;t have that issue today. Also in a time when there wasn;t running water and hygiene was a serious problem, sodomy (foriegn objects etc) could have posed a serious threat to society, thereby affecting population also. Again, we don't have that problem today. There was also a lack of understanding about science, biology, genetics etc. Everything outside of the norm was blamed on the devil or demons. We know today that there are scientific reasons for everything. We have moved on from that society, and it's not about a moral decline, it's about being more educated and advanced.

Additionally, the bible has been translated many many times over the years. The word homosexuality did not even exist when the KJV was written, so how can it actually condemn it? words have been translated over time, which means the translations are apt to human error and bias. All humans are apt to error and bias because we are not perfect only HE is. On top of that remember that all of the bible was written by men, inspired by the word of God...those men are apt to error as well.

God is love, right? God is perfect, right? God is good...so how can love be wrong, when it is good (monogamous, honest, etc). Noone is harmed when two homosexuals fall in love. So what makes it so bad?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I believe anyone who judges another person will not be allowed into heaven because He is the only judge. When you judge others, you profess to be God. That's my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their won. However I don't go around with signs telling ppl that or try to deny rights of those who judge. Live and let live.

I have a question myself about that......why do lesbians dislike being with a man and always say that a man can do nothin for them yet they you fake Dk's? Why would a man want to have a sexual relationship with a man? A woman has a butt the last time I checked.......Anyways how can you be a christian and be gay or lesbian? I dont know what Bible people read but the one I have read that was one of the reason Sodom and Gamora was destroyed. So if God would wipe out a whole city for that, what would make it right?

I'm gay and it isn't a choice. It doesn't make a difference whether people are for or against it. That's like being against the Earth being round. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but that doesn't effect the truth. I am not a Christian, but as I understand it, Jesus advocated loving your neighbor and not judging other people. I'm not a Christian because I wasn't raised as a Christian, but if that is what Jesus really stood for, I am behind him 100%. I truly believe that Jesus would not have a problem with gay people.

i think the interesting thing is that gays and lesbians could really give a crap whether you are "for or against it", just as i assume african and asian americans could give a crap if you are for or against them. Gays, lesbians, asian & african americans all know that if a person actually discusses whether they are for or against them, then those people are pathetic and ignorant.

you are what you are unless you are ignorant, which had to be taught. It's a shame the christian folk seem obsessed with the gays, just like the southerners were obsessed with the blacks...it gets you nothing but internal bitterness and utter disregard from others.

What a waste of thought, as if god would waste a thought on it, or on you for that matter. If you can't love everyone as your god demands, see ya in hell.

Here's a link to a lesbian leader in the Christian community: http://www.kqed.org/topics/history/heritage/lgbt/heroes-pnixon.jsp Within her bio, you'll also find a link to her church, right here in San Francisco---Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco. Some Christians might not agree with their view, but since you asked, they might have some answers for you. Take a look at their website: http://www.mccsf.org/ There are many kind, devout gay people here in S.F., and this is a place where they worship (and, no, it's not about worshipping at the altar of sex---we're talking about their conviction to uphold worship of the Lord). All the best to you.

Before I answer this, I have to go back to the Bible, and I am not sure of chapter or verse, but I am sure it is in Leviticus 18:22-28, and Romans 1:26-27. It clearly states in there all about Bestiality, Incest, Rape, Adultry and Homosexuality. It is a sin, and the wages of sin is death, which means Hell. If they, the homos, hope to get access to heaven, they are going to have to quit what they are doing, confess it to the Lord, and repent (turn away from) it. If they do all this and ask forgivness, the sins will be forgiven and forgotten. This sin thing work like this: There is no small sin or big sin. Sin is sin in God's eyes, and He cannot bear to look upon it. After Jesus drank from the cup, (the sins of all mankind), the Father in Heaven turned his face from him and darkness was upon the earth. So I say, the practicing homo has no hope of getting into heaven, no matter how many times he goes to church. Remember, God does not send people to hell, people send themselves to hell by their acts and deeds, and not accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

True Christians cannot hate anyone. However, on the Homosexual front, homosexual acts are sinful and against how God created Men and Women to be together. (Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve). Basically, they are entitled to their preferance but cannot preform homosexual acts. So, basically, they have to be celibate, which, if you can fight temptation long enough, is pretty much a one way ticket to heaven. Everyone is called to pick up their cross ( the agony of fighting sin--be it you like drinking, drugs, promiscuous sex, gambling, and yes, homosexual sex) and follow Christ. If you do that to the honest to God best of your abilities, then the Gates will be wide open to you and Christ will tell you "Well done, my good and faithful servant, welcome home." Which sounds a whole lot better than the roasting forever in a sea of fire bit in the other place.

Maybe its pushed into peoples faces because of all the haters out there. After a while you JUST WANT TO SHOVE BACK. Especially little tw*ts that ask questions like this "oh . . . i'm so cute and everything but i'm against the big bad homos...."

get a life girl. No one cares.

Christ himself never said anything, ANYTHING about it because he didn't want people worrying ABOUT THIS WORLD. HE WANTED PEOPLE TO WORRY ABOUT THE WORLD TO COME AND THEIR SOULS, and not whether someone else might be having a good time on earth. Did Christ complain because Rome invaded Israel and control it? NO. He never spoke of it, did he? He always concentrated on His KINGDOM TO COME IN THE FUTURE and the good news concerning IT.

Also, BEFORE you can get YOUR SINS FORGIVEN you must forgive others (Matt. 6:14, 15; Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4). Otherwise God will block your prayers with a "cloud like mass" (Lamentations 3:40-44) because it will be unacceptable to him, not coming to him humbly.

Being a christian is to accept everyone. IF you are christian you shouldnt even point your finger if you are using contraceptives. Alot of straight people feel that it is pushed in their face. Its not, gay people dont talk about sex any more than straight people. We arent looking for special treatment, just equal treatment. Bringing religion against a gay person can start alot of fights. God would rather us be ourselves than to live a lie.

People are born gay, so I feel the same about it as I do straight couples.

As far as religion goes, if Christianity was half as tolerant as people claim it is, then they shouldn't have a problem with it either.

People can still be gay and believe in God, they just don't have to put up with the judgmental crap coming from the masses.
