When I graduated college, a year and a few months ago. I proposed to my girlfriend of 4 years on the same day, in front of thousands of people. I also gave my mom the "emergency" credit card back that I used in college (I used it about once a year).
When i woke up the next day I new I had become a real man at 25 years old. We got married last month.
A young man can't turn into an adult if he doesn't have someone else that is a meaningful companion in his life. Not just a "girlfriend". But a girlfriend that he can view as a lifetime partner. He needs help from a woman like that to turn into a MAN.
There were many times as a teenager and even in my earlier 20s I thought that I had became a man. I was wrong. And 98% of young people are too when they think they are finally an adult.

you realize you are truly an adult when you still have fun but you can tell you are acting more mature ,you say' i remember i did that when i was younger' way more than before but most of all you know you are truly an adult when people younger or older look up to you [ not just your bff and family]

I dont think the word adult really exists. I mean we are just bigger children forever learning. Many look at age, I guess you reach adulthood, and clarity when you can stop asking questions, until then, I' am forever a child, teachable, willing to learn, grow, mature and see people as people.

When you get to be about 25. You wake up one day and realize you should have listened to your parents years ago. And then you listen to them from now on.

Somewhere around my 40th bday. I suddenly became old and p*ssed off, which equates to 'being an adult'...lol. You young people of today....get off my garden....now in my day fish and chips cost 5 cents and you got extra salt too.....we never backchatted to our parents...did you see her skirt Doris - looked more like a handkerchief if you ask me.........
