It's cool but if your naming her after the Egytian Queen you misspelled it...."Nefertiti"

All in all though I like both names, just don't be angry at her if it takes a while for her to learn how to spell it and the fact that people are going to misspronounce her name her entire life and she will probably shorten it just so people will get it right.

Sorry...not trying to poop on your parade...just playing the devil's advocate.

I think if you live in the US or anywhere far from Egypt, people might not appreciate the true meaning of the name and tease your little girl in school, but if you want a famous egyptian name you could always name her cleopatra and have everyone call her Cleo. Nevertheless, there are many other beautiful names you might want to consider:

HALIMA: "gentle"

ISIS: myth name of the goddess of magic

KAMILAH: "perfection"

LAYLA: "born at night"

MANDISA: "sweet"

Good luck with your baby girl!

The trouble is that lots of American kids hate to ;pronounce hard names. You may be letting the poor kid in for a lot of silly nicknames.

But it IS a pretty name, I think. Nefertiti ("The Beautiful One Has Come") was King Tut's wife, if I remember rightly.

I think it's pretty but it's spelled Nefertiri. Different queen than Nefertiti. Ahmose-Nefertiri was to married Ahmose I (also were brother and sister). Nefertiti was the wife of Akhenaton (Amenhotep IV). Maybe you could give her a nickname, like 'Tiri'.

If you want a Queen name , just go with Esther. She was the Queen of Persia.

Don't you mean Nefertiti? Famed throughout the ancient world for her outstanding beauty, Akhenaten's queen Nefertiti remains the one of the most well known of the queens of Egypt.

Where I live its very multi culteral, Its not uncommon for families here to choose a name from their native land. But remember she is the one who has to live with it all her life. I can think of some teasing names she probably will here in school.

Yes, I think it's a pretty name for a baby girl even if the baby isn't Egyptian.
