I have been pierced practically everywhere (not my nose though) and the only place I have problems with jewelry is my ear lobes. To be on the safe side I would have them use metal that you know you can handle otherwise it would be a waste to get pierced because it wont heal. After it heals and you want to experiment go ahead but if you feel a little uncomfortable immediately put the original jewelry back in, cleansed with 50/50 water/bactine. Use this solution on your nose as well, I have found it to be the best solution for healing new piercings and irritated piercings. I have been pierced, wait let me recount, 15 times all together, I only have 3 left now though.

Happy piercing!!!!

Ooh, you better get high quality gold.. or better yet, don't pierce it at all. I know that is not what you wanted to hear, but your nose is on the center of your face. If your nose gets infected, you may become self-conscious of it... another question to ask yourself. How do your ears react to different types of jewelry? Odds are that your nose will react much like your ears.

Since wearing a fake necklace makes you breakout, you will need to get a real stud for your nose because is it open

its purely your epidermis reacting to the metallic. it wont damage you. yet once you've like a hoop that does that and also you position sparkling nail polish on the interior it it's going to provide up turning your palms eco-friendly. i'm alwasy doing that cuz i love less expensive jewelery

well, speaking as a girl who's allergic to all metal except 10k gold and over, you should avoid ALL fake jewelry...even to your nose. *hug* it would be bad to break out there!

I would spend the money and get a real one. At least you wont have to worry about it

Just ask them to use surgical steel. Most places use this to pierce anyway.
