nipples will gennerally become more prominent when pierced, but will not stay erect all the time. By going to a proper studio and following appropriate aftercare techniques, chances of infection are very small, despite the urban legends. They do hurt quite a bit, but the pain only lasts 30 seconds then you're done. They will be tender for a week or two after

Don't risk your nipple with a piercing. Get your belly button or something else pierced. you wouldn't want to damage a nerve.

depends on each person and nipple. they will however appear hard and erect with the proper gauge jewelery

It will be sore for awhile...but they wont stay hard or erect...they will be back to normal
