Bravo seems to be deliberately deceptive in its promos and previews of upcoming shows...

For example, in the promos for the season premiere of Project Runway, the announcer says "Tune in to the season premiere to see a Runway first," then cuts to a clip of Tim Gunn asking a contestant to leave. That moment never happened in the premiere. It must be on a later episode.

Also, last season, the promos would regularly take contestant quotes out of context, making it sound like two contestants got in a fight, or like someone didn't get a chance to finish their piece... but upon watching the actual show, this was never the case.

How can Bravo get away with being deceptive in its ads for Project Runway?

I don't have MTV.

I guess they think all shows must have cliff hangers or teasers to keep the audience coming back for next week. The show has a good concept and I don't really care about the drama among contestants, I'm more interested in seeing how they come up with their styles and how things are executed.

"Where's Andre?"

Bravo? Have you never heard of MTV?

Many networks do this to entice viewers to tune in. But MTV is by far the worst, because the editting in programs like "The Real World" many times affects the whole feel of the story and takes a little thing and takes it over the top.

That Tim Gun Clip was from "Road to the Runway" and they stuck in in the promo for the show itself.

Of course, Bravo can stretch the truth. It is call enticement, and most shows do it to encourage viewers to continue watching the show even when the show is reporting a 30 sec. story.
An example: today on Geraldo , the show promoted at least twice a story about a female clerk getting assaulted at a porno shop. All it was a 30 second story., and the Geraldo show did not give out any description of the assailant besides showing the security video clip.

Yeah, I was really disappointed when I watched the show -- I even watched it twice to see what I have missed. If you go to their website, you can glean a little more background info by listening to Tim Gunn's blog, and watching the video clips. They have to do whatever it takes to get the following, I guess. It was really disappointing though. I'm still going to watch the show, and am glad that I don't have to wait til January for it to start again -- that took far too long last year. Take care!

I was waiting too .. and it was like, um, who had to go? Also, when they showed the phone number for voting for the worst seamster, and they still had six people on stage. I mean, it was obvious of the worst three, but it was like, um, at least throw in someone who was good, to mix it up.

Also, in the preview of "what's to happen" in the season, I noticed that the black guy (I can't remember his name) was not in any of the shots, but everyone else was.

It happens all the time all over...I was watching Access Entertainment - one of those 'entertainment news' shows, and they kept on saying "Next, blah blah blah" (I forget what they kept promising to talk about) and I swear to god they never talked about whatever it was that they kept promising was "next!"

Oh well...
