my baby is 6 months old and i swear, he's said dada and mama and a couple other words too...he's babbling a lot.
and although he doesn't know it - he's saying his first few words. hehe. i'm guessing he'll start to say more in another few months.

My baby said her first word at 8 months, but didn't start saying many words until she was a year old.

in the present day, she's in simple terms finding out out her voice. once she starts to obviously use a word (inspite of if reported incorrectly) to confer with something, that should be her first word. so as quickly as she says "baba" each and every time she sees her daddy, that ought to count number. babies can say their first words each and every time from now until eventually round a 12 months previous. there's a notably vast decision of time-honored, or maybe if or not they say those first words early or "previous due" isn't a demonstration of ways nicely they'll talk finally or how smart they're.

It is different for all babies. My sis was saying words when she was 8 months old. It took me about 10.
