The first site gives instructions on how to knit. You might want to try out a small project and knit a poncho for a doll while you are learning (second site) and then move on to one of the several free patterns for ponchos for toddlers, children and adults.

Good luck with your new hobby

This site has good how-to-knit videos...

I would suggest a book from the library as an additional resource.
After you attempt it, if you can't find anyone to help you, go to your local independent yarn store. Pick out some yarn or at least something to buy and they should gladly help you get on the right track!

knitting is easy! Just search "How to knit" and you will get a lot of sites.

www.diynetwork.com is good...click on 'crafts' and then 'Kitty Gritty'

www.lionbrand.com is also really good...and there are hundreds of free patterns

Good Luck!

Wal-Mart has nifty little "learn how to knit" kits in their craft section. It's easier for me to learn from a book with clear pix than from the internet.
