As already stated they are the same, its just each region has a differnet model number. They all play the same games but the movie region is whats important. They are all made in the same factory by the same underpaid workers.
1001 is no better than 1002, its not a newer model or anything like that. To ensure movies you buy play make sure you buy one for your region.
Sony are always making slight changes to the internal boards but no improvements, mainly the changes are to combat the use of mod chips and reduce production costs.

bypass for the recent God of warfare kit. It also has a movie free with it. Plus the recent psp narrow has many advantages over the former one. a million) mild weight 2) Slimmer 3) should be linked to television and also you should play your video games on a higher exhibit screen. no longer plausible with the unique one 4) better battery existence 5) exhibit screen is brighter and photographs look crisper 6) you could receive skype messenger on the recent psp and may make calls. no longer plausible with the former one. 7) God of warfare PSP - the pink one will change right into a collector's version after few years. you could commerce that for a larger value All in all, bypass in for the recent technologies. previous psp became large in spite of the indisputable fact that the recent one is better stepped ahead. I would say the psp-1002. The model numbers difference represent updates internally. The 1002 would assumably have more bugs worked out. Cannot say for sure, but that is what i would go with.

They are actually the same, there's no diference between each. The numbers do not represent "versions" they actually identify the "model". But anyways there's no difference
