find a better job and quit. On your last day take an upper decker in the toilet and leave quietly.

Instructions on an "upper decker" ;

(1) remove the lid of the toilet
(2) sit down
(3) let her loose
(4) replace lid
(5) laugh to self

Leave. It's obvious they do not appreciate you or if they do they do not think you will stand up to them. Check around for other jobs -even temp agencies sometimes have jobs that pay decent and can become full time. A lot of companies now go strictly through temp agencies so they can see how someone works out before they hire them full time. You sound like a hard worker so you should not have any trouble finding another job. If there is anybody that ranks higher than you other than your boss, ask them for a letter of reference. Then give two weeks notice. Good Luck.

LEAVE! Recently I made a career change. It was unplanned.

Here's what happened, I was at my job, six years; the last two years were pure hell, I kept thinking: it will get better.
Guess what? It wasn't, it was getting worse.
One morning I just woke up and wrote my letter of resignation. I spoke to no one about it, I just did it.

I had no back up plan, but I had reached my limit.

Now, I have a much better job, twice the pay and the respect that I deserve.

I say, go for it! What have you got to loose? With the longevity you have, you could do almost anything.

Like everyone else is advising, I definitely suggest you get another job before you quit this one. Jobs can be very hard to come by. It sounds like you have experience to get a better job as maybe a manager or something, so maybe you can look for an advancement -- unless, of course, you don't like the work you do. It's all up to you.

That's a crapy piece of job, i would have left it a long time ago. Your boss should be paying you a lot more since you've been their so long and working so effeciently. I know it's hard to just leave especially if work is hard to find, but if you stay at this job you won't better your life, leave it, when one door closes ten more open.

If you've been there for ten years, you work hard, and allyou got was a 50 cent raise, then I would say it's time for you to leave. It's a two way street. If they aren't willing (within reason) or able to compensate and promote you for your hard work, experience, and length of service, then I would definately move on.

Sounds like you are getting hourly pay...Maybe you should consider looking at other jobs, and secure one before you quit. As supervisor I would also think that you would have recieved more than a .50 raise. Just make sure you're happy. And, also, your experience at your present job should help you with a new one.

I think it's time for you to go out find another job. Ten years of experience from kitchen to supervisor? you will find place that would pay more plus benefits. GOOD LUCK!

Update your resume and start looking for another job immediately. There are others who will value you. Keep your current job for now, but start looking right away. You are worth much more than you are getting in every sense.
