lights are in den that go thru to attic and are not insulated. A notice on the fixture state to keep insulation away from fixture, but in the summer you can feel hot ai comming thru the lights and they are not on.

If this is an issue, you can replace the recessed cans with an insulated can. These can be bought at any lighting supply store, and even at some home centers. They do cost considerably more, which is why most builders don't use them to begin with.

you need to keep insulation away because the heat from the light can start a fire.as for the heat in your attick proper ventilation and a attic fan that works on a temp gauge is all you need.

THE IST OINES RIGHT ITS A FIRE HAZARD KEEP INSULATION AT LEAST 3IN. AWAY FROM LIGHT CAN!
