Of course, it all depends on your eyes.
I prefer going for the plums instead of the charcoals.
Remember you can have drama without too many products.
The look right now that's hot for evening is shimmery, sheer shadow on the upper lid, contoured with a slightly darker shade and then lined with a gorgeous liquid line.
Match this with some red lips
And you are a star!
MAC's website also has make up styles and guides you might want to check out and see which one you respond to!

Dark shadow and liner on the upper lid with your brow being gentlly highlighted with a shimmery shadow (try to match your skin tone. I'm dark - I use bronze). Rememer to use a large brush to blend the colors so it soft and not clown like. Dark liner in the outer corner of the lower lid, smudge toward the inner corner of the eye . Thickening and Lengthening Mascara, 2 coats -- comb lashed between coats (wait until it dries before combing). Arched Eyebrows.

use a slanted brush use the same eye color and brush it under ur eye lids and then using an eye shadow applicator and rub it across, for dramatic eyes use white eye pencil on the lower lid, overall it gives you a smoky effect somewhat gottic, good luck!
