In Spanish speaking countries, Ale is can be short for Alejandra for a girl, or Alejandro for a boy. But I've mostly heard people use Ale as a girl's name.

All I could thnk of was blue moon, my favorite ALE. But, I think it can be either a boy or girl's name. German, Spanish, French, English. Like Ang for Angela. Ale for Alexander and Alexandra.

i think it goes both ways for a girl and a boy...ale is what my family calls me for short since my name is alejandra, ppl call me alex,alexis, or ale for short. you'll here in hispanic countries
