More important than "control" of vocal tone and facial expressions is emotional control. Can you deliver any emotion, on cue, in very much the way you would display that emotion in real life. Almost everything else will just show up, if you can do that fully.

I think you're focusing too much on wanting people to say what a wonderful actor you are. A great vocal range is helpful. An entire body (not just the face) which you command with ease is important. But an audience could go to an opera or a circus if these were of primary importance. Find your emotions. Become their master. And then tell the truth on stage, always. Particularly the ugly, embarassing truth. Don't be afraid of being unattractive.

Practice making faces and various expressions in front of a mirror... take pics, if possible!
Tape your voice while reading from a book or just babbling about anything and then play it back... how do you sound? Be sure to try to sound happy, sad, angry, goofy, passionate, crazy, etc.

Better get into a drama school or get taken on as an apprentice by a theatre company and learn from people who have mastered these skills already. Warning: it's hard work. But very rewarding if you can do it.
