You must remember that in the UN...every country is one vote.
The vast majority of countries in the world are either
1) failed states with few allies who are jealous of the west and our success
2) Theocracies (usually Muslim) who see us as Infidels
3) dictatorships who are hostile to our ideas of freedom
4) Non aligned nations who garner much of their foreign aid from countries in catagory 1,2,and 3
That means the UN will seldom back a western democracy's actions and will be quickto denounce any action towards countries in catagories 1,2,3 and 4.
There has been many UN resolutions against Israel....I don't believe any against it's neighbours!

I think that it is because Israel response is somewhat out of proportion to the capture of two Israeli soldiers (and the murder of 4 Israeli soldiers) by Hezbollah militants (who are not directly related to the Lebanon government, but who operate in Lebanon), whilst the orginal attacks were on soldiers, the Israeli attacks are affecting Lebanonese civillians by bombing their airport, bridges and sea blockade, add to this that at least 35 civilians, (families in their houses) have been killed from the bombs. The Israeli army has much more (killing) power than it's enemies and it may be considered they are using too much force.
However the main reason that the UN would condemn Israel is that they don't want any further instability in the area, it affects stock markets and revenge attacks on each side (the Hezbollah militants are now firing rockets at Israel causing more innocent civillians to die or be otherwise badly affected) could escalate causing full blown war in the region, the more people who die, the more people want to advenge their deaths and therefore there more people are killed.

Because its all about them! The UN hasn't done anything for any country except steal. When ever there is some real work to do its the USA doing it!
It's Trueman's fault about N. Korea, another friggin appeasing democrat. If he would of let General MacArthur do his job instead of playing politics, N. Korea would be like Japan now! If you look into history, when there is democrats running the country we lose all the way around! I second the Thanks to Mr. Bolton!

Does nobody in the US learn any history at school?
Perhaps if you educated yourself on the middle east it would stop you asking such stupid questions.
Isreal belonged to the Palestinians less than 70 years ago and they were kicked out by the Jews who came to occupy their land. Millions had to leave their homes were taken and many were murdered.
Ever since Israelis have killed many more Palestinian civilians than terrorists have . CHECK THE FACTS NOT THE FOX NEWS REELS. They pollute the Palestinian water, lock up thousands of women and children and make life hell generally.
Terrible as they are. the Isrealis killed by terrorists add up to nothing compared to the death and destruction caused by Israelis.
Ever wonder why most of the world condemns the US for supporting such a government.

because israel is kicking ***. the un didn't condemn them, the un begged them to stop.
it is not vile to beg someone for mercy when they are beating you; vile is choosing to unleash your army on a nation that is 30 years behind you technologically.
