It's a black day for Rock & Roll. A pioneer has died. I'm sure the news of his death spread more quickly in the music industry and among long-time fans. The mainstream media have marginalized many of the ground-breaking bands and musicians in favor of current corporate pop puppets, so don't look for teary-eyed eulogies from them. Look to the indy musicians who understand the true legacy of Syd Barrett to step up and acknowledge the loss and the debt still owed.
