I hate rap...its just talking to music...........whats your view on it??

I can't stand most mainstream rap, but I love underground hip hop.
Interestingly enough, I find that most people who say they hate rap (or hip hop music) don't know as much about it as they think they do (i.e. - the difference between an MC and a rapper...and yes, there is a difference). Most of them base their opinions on that rap that the mainstream media force feeds us. I'm here to tell you that not all rap is about drugs, money, bling, sex and guns, and not all rap is riddled with profanity. There's still some good, quality hip hop out there for those that bother to look for it, but you definitely won't find it in the mainstream.

Right On! Trashy lyrics with only 2 themes - lust & violence. No melody in most rap songs. Theres a few good rap songs but thats the 2 %.

It's not even music. They just glorify and encourage gang violence in urban areas and degrading women. In my humble (and arrogant) opinion, rap music is what's keeping society back from what it can be.
Oh, and to the first guy? It's better to be IGNORANT than have the same spelling skills as a 3-year-old.

that opinion would be true when rap first came out.
I feel that way when I hear "old skool" rap but it's different now. Rap music really is music now.

I think it is just talking but it affects people in different ways. So if you and me don't like rap somebody else in the world loves it.

well, the 80s rap is better, the background music sounds okay..

yup. i hate rap too. it has too many bad words in the songs. more than you'll hear in rock/metal songs. sure rock/metal songs have bad words in them but not as much as rap. in rap it sounds like they are saying a bad word ever other word. and it doesn't have that much beat to it either compared to rock/metal

I hate country. I guess you have to be drunk and southern to understand it. Rap is okay though... at least some rappers.
