being sued for $2,500 ,whitch i don't owe & refuse to pay !!! what can happen in small claims court??? can i be made to pay or can somthings be taken away from me to get said amount ??????

If you lose your case, you will have a judgment against you. If you don't pay then the other person does have some rights to enforce the judgment, which may include attaching your wages or going after any money owed to you by a bank.

Be prepared before going to court. Even if you are innocent and may even resent the process, you should take the responsibility to defend yourself seriously. Bring witnesses, and copies of all documents that may even be close to relevant. You'll only get one chance to defend yourself. Good luck.

Well, the one wanting the money has to prove that you really owe the money. If you don't owe the money, simply nothing can happen to you.

But perhaps it's better you speak to an experienced businessman or so about the case - perhaps you do owe the money but are not aware about...? Rather get that straight before a court case.
