If you are looking for a free copy of sims 2, then you won't be able to find one because that is stealing and illegal. If you are looking for downloads for the sims2 game (clothes, furniture, etc.), I would recommend http://www.modthesims2.com/ they have a lot of free downloads (to get them you have to register at the site, but that is free). And i'm not sure why you can't use rar files, they are a lot like zipped files but more compressed. You just need to get a program that unzips rars and once you have that you can use those types of files. A lot of people put their sims2 downloads in rar format. I use TUGZIP (free program) and it will unzip both rar and zip files. If you have a question you can IM me and I can help you with that. ModtheSims2 site also has an area with questions/answers and maybe they can help you with rar files if you are still confused.

You walk/drive to nearest video game retailer and buy a legal licensed copy for your personal use.
Please refrain from requesting illegal software downloads.
