Personal preference I suppose. Those fake looking orange tans though... have to go. Why is it that "looks" mean so much in our society?
The old saying still holds true... You can't judge a book by it's cover.
I think this goes the same for people. Personal preference, that's what it really boils down to with anything. Tan or not, etc.

I think it kind of depends of the time period. Tan is in, because it meant you had time and money to lay around on beaches. But I think fair is coming back because it means you don't have skin cancer. You should read Scott Westerfeld's UGLIES series, he talks a lot about this stuff.
I also think it kind of depends on the guy.

i think guys like tan girls. my skin does not tan at all... it burns. and my boyfriend is always joking around about it and saying that i need to get a tan.

It can go either way. A tan suites some girl, whereas others, they may look ridculous. So it depends on what you fancy.

Either is nice....Don't tan too much or you'll end up looking like a leather handbag in a few years.

as long as the girl isnt dead white or burnt to a crisp then thats cool. but i think i like them not so tanned
