I think some people find it difficult to believe our species is alone in the galaxy or even the universe. Once people learn about the virtual size of the universe, the number of galaxies and the number of planets, one cannot help but wonder if there exists another form of intelligent life (e.g. if they actually want to believe such life exists anywhere on THIS planet). I don't believe most of the stories about UFOs, as these objects people see are eventually identified as something else. However, it can be possible there can be other life somewhere else ... though I have trouble believe this other life will find it interesting to hop through the galaxies visiting other planets to learn about it.

It`s the want of us knowing if there is possibly anything else to share the universe and not wanting to feel like we are alone.
