They should give you this info when you take your baby home from the hospital. 101 and above is bad. Below that you can safely treat at home.

anything above 98.6
98.6 is the standard-average body temperature; some people are lower or a little higher
if a child has a fever over 101, and are under age 1 take them to the dr. immediately

when it gets to 100 call the dr. it is harder for a child to get the fever down then an adult so call the dr.
