Most people who sell Avon only usually sell to friends or have Avon parties. Have you tried advertising this with the local media. You must somehow reach out to the markets that are untouched by Avon. If nobody else is willing to do what you are willing to do, then putting an ad on the radio, or newspaper telling people of your willingness to sell them these products you may get some extra sales that way. Make up a few business cards as well to give to customers. Maybe they would spread the word for you. Good Luck.

The first thing you need to do is figure out who would be interested in your product. You can't sell something to someone who wouldn't want it. In fact, it's usually hard to sell something to someone who doesn't want it already. In your case with Avon, you're looking for women, probably women aged 40 and over.
Second, you need to put yourself in direct contact with these people. Make some friends in your target demographic, perhaps at work or at church. Then, get to know their friends. Build up a rapport with these people.
Third, introduce your product to them as something that could fill a particular need or desire. Sell to people personally. Say to someone you know, "Hey - I've always loved the way you do your eye shadow. I actually sell Avon on the side, and I've got some eye shadow I think would look fantastic on you! Would you like to see it?" Get them to buy one thing from you. Once you've got them as a customer, you'll find it's much easier to sell them other things. But always remember, they're buying YOU just as much as their buying the product. Your personality and vibe are REALLY important. Your personality is what will make your customers recommend you to their friends, and THAT is how you grow your business. Word of mouth advertising is the best kind, always. That's especially true for sales systems like Avon. It's all one big networking operation. The product has to be of decent quality, but the rapport between the customer and salesperson is far, far more important.
Your personality is what will help you get folks to switch from one of the other Avon people to you! And remember to start small with each customer. It's a lot easier to get them to buy ONE product from you than a lot. The other products will come later!
Hope this helps - Good luck!

Make youself a TV commercial and use your local cable company to run it in the county (they get that specific). Run it on Lifetime, oxygen, and the Home Shopping Network between 12p-7pm.
30 seconds will only cost you about 35 avg per. Some stations give package deals.
Call your local cable provider and ask them for an Advertising Packet. Tell them you wish to speak to a sales person. They will give you a packet and look through it. IT is easy once you look at the paperwork.
Shoot your own commercial and get a student from the university to edit it. They internship credit for that. You can sometimes even get the A\V department to come out and they get credit and you get a commercial. Professionally, that is how they have to get thier first professional gig, they have to do it to call themselves a professional. This gives them an advantage when they graduate.
I advise during the whole commercial you dislplay a 1-800 and website address. That way if they skip past on tibo you still see it. Get yourself a 1-800 that goes to live phones, as well as a VM system. IF someone is going to call on your commercial, they will do it during the commercial.
That would be the quickest way for you to expand your program. You have to put it in front of your market. Your market is watching Oprah.

As a former business owner, I can tell you that attracting customers has always been about good service combined with value. However, if your area is saturated with competition and everything you know to do is not working, it may be time to hang it up. Avon sells well, but you need to sell a lot of it to make any money. Don't feel guilty if it doesn't work out. My wife and I ran a franchise that we really thought would take off, but it failed after two years. It tore us apart emotionally. Good luck

lol.. Looks like you are really after your goal then. Well try and compare yourself to the competition, If you are offering free shipping then make sure everyone of your clients knows about that. and put together a little bonus for returning customers and discount for referrals. Be aggressive and build a reputation that you work the hardest and longest and that you deserve it more then any one else. Dress classy and most important use the product you sell. Get a young girl from the neighbor hood to help you then that would really show people you are sincere with all of your efforts. Take the girl with you show her the ropes and eventually let her be the one making the initial contact with customers and selling to them. Build a team and quit focusing on doing it all by yourself because no one does it all by there self and like I said before be aggressive. Don't be rude or pushy! Be lady like and considerate. My best of wishes to you!

You just have the bad luck of being in a saturated market. You might try putting up a web site, but I imagine there are a lot of those as well. Most Avon sellers that are successful have been doing it for a long time and have a lot of loyal repeat customers.
