Get ready to put your nerd glasses on. Ready? Sure, Wolverine has a healing factor, animal instincts, razor sharp claws, and a nearly indestructible skeletal structure. However, people seem to forget he's not immune to pain. And if Wolverine is injured faster than he can heal, he's still subject to the effects of loss of blood which causes deliriousness. Fighting purely on instinct can also blind Wolverine's level of focus. Just because your stronger and faster doesn't mean you can always hit your target if you lack the focus to do so. These are the very things Batman can take advantage of. Keep in mind, Batman has gone up against the the entire Justice League, the New Gods, Darkseid, etc. What gives Batman an advantage is that he is always underestimated by his super powered opponents. Furthermore, Batman is also a trained combatant on all levels in many martial arts. If there is a weakness to be found, he'll find it, and exploit it. Last but not least, Batman is not invincible.... but knowing people still consider him as a contender amongst some of DC and Marvel's strongest foes is something to admire.

Wolverine would win, but it wouldn't be a squash. Their fighting styles are so different; Wolverine is a brutal animal, whereas Batman is a highly technical fighter. Wolverine is a strictly close range brawler, whereas Batman can fight from close range as well as long range. However, Wolverine holds the strength and stamina advantage by leaps and bounds, and that would win out in the end. Wolverine would have had a fight, but he would win.

Very well written Van Daniels! Impressive...but I'm going to have to stop at the part after Batman throws the shurikens...you must assume both characters are still in motion during battle - Wolverine wont be subdued in motion because of some wimpy Bat shaped knives being thrown at him...you have to remember he's run head first at bullets...during that head long rush, its doubtful Batman would have any time to make any elaborate plans and would have to retreat...unfortunately, you also forget that no matter how far Bat gets, Wolverine can friggin trace his scent and would follow him home and snuff him, before he can even get out his house keys...this would effect a huge deal of your story...but once again, well written and I dont exactly hate Batman either.

Well, considering the fight takes place in Gotham City, I would say Batman because he knows the place better, and knows where to hide. He'd have to be quick, though, and attack to kill, rather than maim, as Wolverine could just heal and come back after him.

Batman would obviously have the home-field advantage. Wolverine doesn't normally fight on rooftops.

Batman will win. I am a die-hard Wolvie fan, but Batman is the better fighter and thinker, and in his home turf. Wolverine has his claws, but Batman has a dozen ways to immobalize Wolvie so they wouldn't be of use (martial arts or gadget, take your pick). Batman has knockout pellets, tasers, and batarangs he wouldn't even need. This fight would be quick, and probably end with Wolvie getting grilled in the Watchtower by the JLA.
