Turn your "weakness" into something positive.

Examples:

I'm an idealist, which leads me to sometimes expect too much out of people. However, it also keeps me positive.

At times, I tend to procrastinate. However, I 'm the type of person who works best under pressure and the pressure helps me meet my deadlines.

NEVER, EVER put down a true weakness. Turn something that is positive into a weakness. For example: "I become obsessed with finding the correct answer. Sometimes I forget to eat lunch." That gives the impression you will follow through on any project. "I am a neatness freak." actually means: You won't have a messy workplace.

Are you asking about a potential interview question?

I respond "patience." I then go on to explain that when given a task or project, I want to get on it right away and finish it right away. I need to slow myself down so the project or task is done properly and according to the supervisor's requirements.

I also say I sometimes carry that over when dealing with the public. (I work in a public library). I want to help them, but sometimes it takes a while to figure out what the patron wants. So, I need to ask the right questions in order to help the patron properly.

How is that for an example of a weakness?

If you are being asked on an application, it is important that you say some thing but you don't want to sound like an idiot, so you can put something like- I dont have the desired amount of on -hands use of Microsoft word, which I look forward to receiving if I work for you company, or something to that effect. Other wise in real life it is always best to be honest, especially with yourself!

As an interview answer you might say a good one is: I am just too honest. An employer would probably take that as an asset. But don't be lying about it!

That is a trick question. The answer is: Tell them one of your strengths. Such as: I have a tendency to be very organized with my work.
