Pregnant women shouldn't drink alcohol in any form. It can harm the baby seriously, including causing birth defects.

no do not drink at all while preganant or nursing
that is an old saying that was made up by a drunk. even coffee and sodas are not good for you or baby . but wine is a no no
now if you are not preganant a glass of red wine a day will lower your risk for some disease.

All the legit web sites I searched all say "no".
Being a wine lover (red at that, and specifically pinot noir), I always like to stay informed.
But here's the deal: why take even a remote chance that your fetus could develop fetal alcohol syndrome or any other anomaly due to the effects of even a small amount of alcohol?
You can hold off for a few short months.
Give your future baby the best shot at starting out healthy.
At the very least (God forbid) if your baby was born with problems, you'd know it wasn't because of anything you drank.

Actually a glass of red wine a day is considered by most doctors as acceptable and some even recommend it. There are actually ingredients in the wine that aid in the babies developement.
I would consult a REAL doctor. Or read up on some books about it.

My wife's doctor actually just recommended that my wife drink one glass of heavy red wine (cabernet or pinot noir?) every other day or so over the course of a few hours IF her iron pills didn't work on bringing up her blood count. But that's some pretty restrictive conditions and under a doctor's advice.

Would you give your infant red wine in a bottle? No so why do you think you drinking it would be any different. Right now most of what you drink and eat directly passes to the child. So no, a pregnant woman should not drink any form of alchohol durring her pregnancy.

Pregnant women should not consume any alcohol during their pregnancy. The "Alcohol Fetal Syndrome" is a medical term with lots of information addressing your concern. You can research more by entering the term on the web.

It depends- if you're early in the pregnancy, it's ok but if you've been pregnant for awhile (2 months+), it's not wise.
(Sorry about the people being mean to you for asking a question.)
