He is the most feared man on the planet! It is so cool that he gives credit for his skills to God.

I believe he is near the top of the list. Barry Bonds doesn't appear to be feared too much. He has struck out probably more so far this year than the last couple together. I do believe that Ryan Howard has crept to or near the top of the list as well. I wouldn't want to face David Ortiz either....however, Albert Pujols can beat you in so many ways. He is not just a great power hitter...he is a great hitter!

It is still Barry Bonds, rangersfan34 is correct.
A lot of people like to think it's Pujols, because they like him, and they hate Bonds... but when you consider that Bonds has shattered the career record for walks (also shattered the single-season record), there's no question that he's the guy that managers least like to see up at the plate, in ANY situation.
Bonds leads all active players with 607 career intentional walks... Ken Griffey Jr. is second, with 210!!! No one else has more than 171 (going into this season, Vlad Guerrero might have passed the 170 mark by now)...
Albert Pujols has drawn 70 intentional walks in his first five full seasons... only 14 per year... There's no comparison. Bonds drew 232 walks in 2004, his last fully healthy season...120 of those were intentional!! He drew 50 more intentional walks in one year than Pujols has in his five full major league seasons...
Bonds also has 2 other seasons in which he's drawn more than 60 intentional walks...nearly matching Pujols' career total.
I would also list Ortiz as being more 'feared' than Pujols... he is flat out scary...

Dont get me wrong, Pujols is awesome, but the most feared hitter in baseball is definitely Big Papi aka David Ortiz. He's the last guy a closer wants to see in the 9th inning b/c he is super clutch.

My definition of "feared" would be the person who draws the most intentional base on balls, as that person obviously scares the other team enough for them to pitch around that player. Using that definition, I still have to place Barry Bonds at the top of the list... He's received 31 IBB's to Pujols' 15, while appearing in 69 games to Pujols' 70... I'm not a fan of Bonds, but the numbers don't lie -- managers DO NOT like to pitch to him...

I'd have to say that Vlad Guerrero is the most feared hitter in baseball. He has a reputation of being able to hit balls thrown out of the strike zone into play for hits. The strategy of trying to get him to chase 'bad pitches' for ground outs or pop ups isn't effective against him.

No way! It has to be David Ortiz! It is hitting home runs left and right. Not to say that Pujols isn't feared.

I think it would be a close vote between Pujols and David Ortiz.
