This is cultural and learned behavior in America. Most men in Europe and Asia sit with their legs crossed, somewhat like american females. Look at very old drawings of Americana, and you will see men with their legs crossed. The whole sitting with your legs wide open came about during the western movement. Men sat as just as they rode on a horse, and women did not ride like this. Thus it became associated with masculine and feminine behavior. Also there is the space factor, there's tons of space in America, in class, on the bus, etc.., and you can sit with your legs open. Try doing this on a train Tokyo, or Paris,etc.. You can't it's considerd very rude and there's no space for it. So I hoped this answered your question.

It's certainly not a pleasant sight whatever the reason, especially when they only have on a dressing gown that flaps wide open when they sit down.

If you're female, try sitting down and keeping your legs closed with a tennis ball between them.

It is nothing to do with squashing the testicles!........we are very well designed in that the testicles are very mobile enclosed within the scrotum. When pushed together (as in closing the legs) the testicles roll over each other rather than being squashed............at least mine do anyway!!!!!!!!

see to cross your legs, you most open your legs in order too cross, i prefer the cross leg method as it gives me more space and support "and defence from random ball attacks"

I just dont want it to get too hot in there anyway it would be kinda tight with my baseball sized testicles. I have notthing to be shy.
