I stayed awake for two weeks when The Ring came out, lights on and full-blown nightmares.
Funny story, though, is that I took my mother in law to see it with us, and she hated it. When we got home, my husband calls her and does the whole "seven days ..." bit, and she literally threw her cell phone across the room and screamed. We laughed and laughed .... but when we went to bed, it wasn't funny anymore.
The only thing that got me over that fear was The Ring 2, and then The Grudge ... when she's under the blanket. If you can't be safe under the covers, you can't be safe anywhere!!!!

I cant explain but Jaws scared the hell out of me for so long i was afraid there would be a shark in the water did not want to swim until i knew there was not a shark in there it was a very good movie and the scares came when you least expect them! Halloween was another great movie when boogeyman jump out from behind door you jump because your scared and after seeing it you always look behind door to make sure no one is there! If a horror movie is good it will scare or creep you out but if it is bad it will make you zzzzzzzzzz fall asleep! Certain horror movies will genuinely scare the hell out of you like The Exorcist or Halloween or Jaws! These are the movies that scared me and Texas Chainsaw Massacre had dreams about that one for a long time! So sit back put in a good horror movie and prepare to be scared thats what there for and will do if there good!

An OLD movie called "Island of the Dead" with Boris Karloff and Ellen Drew. Really scary when the rain drips on the wooden coffin in a cave in which a lady is buried alive. The rain loosens the nails and she climbs out and runs around kills people. Creeeeeek! I ran out of the theatre, but then I was only about 7 years old!
