I the mirror old? Old mirrors have marks like that and there is nothing you can do for it. You don't want to either, if the mirror is valueable, changing those marks will ruin it.

Fingernail polish remover... Are you sure that the mirror doesn't need to be resilvered on the back? I have an old mirror and in spots the silver part has worn off or something and it looks like black spots/streaks when I'm look at it.

Probably the "silver" is scratched off the backing. There's nothing you can do to repair them. Comes with age. Sorry.

if it is on the mirror try skin so soft,,,,,no really, but if it is just old and worn, the backing is wearing off,,your done

maybe ligheter fluid or wd-40? depends on what it actually is tho.
