Genes are the physical part of us, enviroment also affects us physiologically and free will is the gift of God to our soul
We are given free will by God to do what we want, He does not force us to serve him but the choice is serve him and in the end reap the rewards of heaven or serve satan and in the end go to hell May seem like the latter is the easier way to go but Jesus said the way to heaven is rocky Ill choose the rocky road

Of course we have free will. We can contemplate our choices in life. We can choose to do good or evil. Be supportive or destructive, etc. If we did not have free will, we would be no more than a fish or robot, for that matter.

There are times when man makes a poor decision, then blames God for the consequences. We have free will and related consequences. That is why the choices we make are so important.

Prove to me that there really is a God and I'll attempt to prove to you that it has free will.

Personally, I believe that free will is an illusion. Everything in the universe is bound by laws of cause & effects. Everything that occurs does so as a result of some cause. Everything you do or thing is the result of genetics, bio-chemistry, environment, and up-bringing. All come into play when making decisions. As every action is the inevitable outcome of its preceeding cause the future becomes set. A series of cause/effect has led you to the present moment and will continue to lead you into the future.

As someone said, if you remove free will, you remove morality. You can't get credit for doing something nice or something bad if you have no control over it.

Are we simply genes and environment? Well, you can't change your genes but your can change your environment and you can change yourself in your environment.

If a preacher moves into a crack house, does he by default become a crack user or does he have the power to change his environment instead of it changing him.

Farmers are the most free humans in the world. People who live off of their own land and who live more or less sustained by the land and their natural environment. Back to nature. Most of us are so spoiled by computers and what have you could no longer live this way.

Quite the opposite, God is constrained by the rules of the Universe he created for us, thus eliminated virtually all his choices, while we as Human have vast numbers of choices within the universe while remaining unaware of the choices that have never existed for us.

We are constrained by the limits of our existence, and many of our choices are repetitive, but since no moment really repeats itself the entire construction of the Universe provides us with a framework for making choices, thus it is made so that we are free within it.

that is an fairly confusing question to respond to. This debate has long gone on for generations. Are we in fact a sum of our factors or is there deus en machina? right that's slightly tidbit to contemplate: the reason Lucifer replaced into solid down is using the fact he provided an opinion to God one time. His concepts have been that the final thank you to maintain humanity from sinning is to disclaim them loose will. at present, that is believed that Lucifer likes you to sin because it brings emotional success. and what style of loving "god" could provide you the flexibility to come to a decision on, then condemn you for determining on wrongly. in case you achieve this have self belief we don't have loose will, are you submitting to God's little torture expiriment or are you siding with the devil?

We do have free will, however I can see your point of view about being governed by our genes and environment. They can effect our tendencies. But, that is where the fall of man comes in and we sin (by our free will).

if there is no free-will there is no MORALITY since we don't have the choice to do good or bad. The universe is governed by the laws of nature..are we also products or do we have a free will that we believe in that morality exists. peace.

Yes free will is practiced every day with the choices we make. Besides, who's to say we are not gods ourselves.
