Raging Bull. Directed by Martin Scorsese and Starring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. It is a biopic of the boxer Jake LaMotta played by De Niro (Pesci plays his brother Joey) and has some of the most realistic, in the ring boxing scenes ever. It was filmed almost completely in black and white and this puts a lot of people off. It is my opinion that these should keep to their Arnold Schwarzeneger films and leave the good films to the people who like to be entertained.

Some people argue that Raging Bull is more of a 70's film but it was made in 1980 so it just makes it as an American film. The American Film Institute (AFI) voted it the best film of the 80's.

Breakfast Club...And Nothing but Trouble...it's one of the most bizarre films ever made with John Candy, Chevy Chase, Demi Moore, Tu Pac, and Dan Aykroyd. Weird.

I'd have to say Princess Bride, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles.

These define the times.
