a query to beer?

Question

i don't have a taste for beer.. its taste does not appeal to me very much..why?? and why does ciggarette smoke smell like heavy urine to me?
i don't want to get drunk but i would like to enjoy a beer or wine..thing. is it like this for anyone else? it just tastes so... glah... makes me do a "meh" face.

by the way, i'm in USA. i've tried red dog, some of the lights and fat tire.
i'm not drinking to get drunk, but why is drinking so "highly" rated?? it does not taste "good" to me. is it SUPPOSED to taste good would be another question here..

I agree I don't like the taste of beer, it reminds me of stale urine. I don't like wine either - too bitter. Or martinis for that matter...I guess I'm picky.

You'd probably do well with frozen drinks or coffee liquors (Baliey's Irish Cream) or something fruity. I like those Smirnoff malt beverage things...They're good they taste like flavored Sprite =)

Cigarettes smell like urine to you b/c they contain a small amount of urea which is found in urine. Now, I cannot smell this...I just don't like the smell of cig smoke in general.

Okay, as an avid beer drinker and college student, allow me to let everybody in on a little secret. I don't care what anyone says, nobody likes beer the first time they taste it. When I had my first beer, I asked myself the same question: "How do they drink this stuff." The truth is, you just get used to it. Go to a few parties or bars, drink a few beers, and after the first 2 or 3, you'll find out it doesn't taste so bad. Once you've been out drinking on a few occasions, you won't even think twice drinking a beer and the taste won't bother you.

Beer, like smoking is an acquired taste. A lot of people (me included) who now like beer did NOT like it the first time or two they tasted it. Same with smoking.
These are both things that have a 'cool' aura about them. They are supposed to be done only by adults, so that makes them even more attractive to young people.
There is nothing cooler than being who you are. If you don't like beer or smoke or whatever, just stand up for yourself. It is following the crowd like a sheep just to fit in which insecure people do. Having said that, I have gotten a lot of pleasure out of drinking beer and smoking over the years.

I don't like cigarette smoke either but I think beer is an acquired taste. I hated it when I was younger but I found I could drink three or four and they didn't taste as bad. I guess intoxication kills your taste buds. Now that I'm quite a bit older I sorta like the taste. I would pass up a beer for a cold glass of iced tea though.

Well, I enjoy the taste of beer but it doesn't agree with me, so I don't drink it. Enjoy wine, alcohol but not malted beverages.

Funny most people who've quit smoking find it most difficult to not smoke after a drink or two, least I did. To me, they still smell good as long as someone else is smoking them. I quit a quarter century ago and no longer even "Cheat" a puff here or there.

I don't have a taste for wine and beer (beer taste like urine to me). I also can't stand cigarette smoke, I hate the smell and I suffer from asma. The only thing I could tell you is that you are not alone.

i don't like beer either. all of it tastes the same to me. try drinking mixed drinks instead. bit more pricey but you'll get the same effect and look a little less frat boyish in the process. I personally enjoy long island ice teas and amaretto sours. give them a try.

i hate the taste of light beer like bud light, so i drink dark beer. very good and there are so many different kinds and flavors to choose from you can't go wrong

Unlike "Dufus" I've never tried stale urine . Then again I suppose where you are is important. If in USA they don't really know what real beer tastes like ....

There are many, many kinds and flavors of beer. Try some of the darker ones. Try a Guinness. Try an IPA. Try a fruit beer.
