I work in a small Hardware store, with great people, they are all gainging years. Myself and another female a8 years younger than I were hired a week apart, she first. After about three weeks of working together she suddenly began acting rude to me and no one else for absolutley no apparent reason. I am extremely nice to everyone. Especially the customers. What's up with her? She catches me off guard, so I just walk away with my head dropped in disbelief. What can I do to make her stop this unacceptable behavior?

she may be jealous of you and your nice mannerism. I would say let her dig her own hole with this behavior. It is very immature and you seem to be bigger than that. Next time she is rude simply look at her and smile and say: I'm sorry that you are having a bad day, this will get her infuriated. Fight back with being nice!!

follow the procedures and report her to your boss if that does not work then you go to her and say i don't appreciate the way you acting towards me and you might want to get to know me before you run off at the mouth cause i will fu*k u up and then you walk off laughing at her. unless you are a very scary person and can't handle confutation then you might have to quit.

Your letting her treat you this way so she will never stop. You need to start being rude right back. That is the only thing people like that understand.

Stand up for yourself. Let her know her behavior is rude and you will not tolerate it. The more you ignore her and walk away with your head down, the more she will abuse you.

Confront her and ask if she has a problem with you. The only way to know for sure is to find out from her directly. Good luck!

Ignore, they will grow up.
Or they will get into trouble down the line because of their mouth!!

sounds to me like she is insecure. so long as you
continue to do your work and are nice, the other
employees will see her for what she is. i feel sorry
for her but you sound like someone i would like to
work with. hang in there.

Challenge her with...."Have I done something wrong?" If she answers you truthfully...you have your answer. If she 'blows you off' or doesn't answer...then respond... Well, I'm still going to be nice to you...SO DEAL WITH IT!

If you are a manager, you fire them. If you aren't, you tell your manager.
