I watched the movie "monster" based on the true story about Aileen Wuornos. She was a prostitute that killed some of her clients. I also watched the documentary about her life leading up to the murders. In my opinion she was obviously mentally ill since a young child. Now I know this is no excuse for murder but I think the death penalty was the wrong sentence to give her, Do you think she got what she deserved or that the decision to sentence was wrong? I think she needed to be locked up forever but that what she also needed was strong mental health treatment. Tell me what you think?

I agree with you. Some of the people she was killing at first really did deserve what they got. But then she just got crazy. But it was because she was a little messed up in the head from all the stuff that happened. She should have just been locked up in a crazy house.

I believe she was another lost cause in a society of bastards too busy to take notice of her. She was another of the millions of people scraping through life without any help or support. I don't debate the death penalty for her actions, that is a topic left in god's hands and for our elected leaders, but she did murder men violently despite her mental state. She was aware of her actions, but very desparate in her actions. Would she have committed those actions again, behind bars, if given the chance?

It's like teaching an old dog new tricks.. The woman was obviously pretty old and had been doing these odd things for awhile. I am unsure as to if the punishment was fair, but I do think it was fair. The woman killed men repeatedly expecting to get away w/it for the rest of her life.

I don't believe in the death penalty, but she gave up her right to appeals. If there was ever a crazy person, she was i. But I also think she may have been put out of her misery, I'm sure it isn't a picnic thinking they are poisoning your food and all the other things she believed they were doing to her.
