Israel gave up the settlements in the Gaza strip. Did it help attain peace? Canj Israel do anything but retaliate against terrorism? Is that their ONLY option?

Since 9/11 when many of us started paying attention to Muslim terrorist organizations I haven't seen them ever stand-down for any reason. Al Queda might be satisfied if all of the "Infidels" left the middle east, but Hamas and Hezbollah have as their stated goals the destruction of Isreal and the killing of all Jews.
This seems to leave Isreal, the US, England and our other allies two courses of action:
1) Be patient and just absorb the daily and weekly attacks, or
2) Kick the Holy Living Crap out of 'em.
Before 9/11 the US was content with choice number 1. After 9/11 we have adopted choice number 2.
Isreal has been somewhat content with #1 until the recent action by Hezbollah and now they have switched to #2.
I wish we lived in a Rodney King world where we could all just get along, but we don't; that is just REALITY. So I fully support Isreal kicking as much Hezbollah *** as they feel they need to to secure their Northern border.
We would all like the Arab citizens to see that these terrorist organizatinos bring nothing but pain to them, but that won't happen either. The PR war is a lost cause and neither the US or Isreal has anything left to lose there, so just take the military action that needs taking and get it done.

Israel has a right to defend themselves. Israel may have given up the settlements in the Gaza strip but it sure didn't stop the Palestinians from killing Israelites now did it? Not to mention kidnap a couple soldiers.

yes Israel is at fault. They attacked another country for something a group of 5 guys did. They are going to start a global war if they keep this crap up.

Israel is doing what they need to do.
The Hezbollah is a crazy anti-Semitic cult with deep pockets thanks to the support they receive from Iran and Syria.
Lebanon currently has around 16,000 (!) missiles pointed at Israeli towns.
Missile attacks have already killed 10 Israelis, and Lebanon is still holding two Israeli prisoners.
They must be destroyed.

Israel is like the rest of the world in that they are tired of the terrorist and decided it time to kill them off. I only hope that the rest of the world would do the same thing.

it matters not ...if the bible is true ....then Israel will be given to the true Jews..not the ones that claim to be
if its not eventually Israel will take it by force..
8 million Palestinians a few thousand Jews sounds like colonization

Israel is in the right to defend themselves, and I hope the US continues to support them.
