Why does it come that when a man takes his children and flees a violent woman that the police just help the woman and abuse the man more? ..........Armed police. Armed, violnet thugs/criminals.
There's absolutely no help for male victims of domestic violence- quite a few of the fathers' rights' guys have tried to take their children and flee. *All*, without exception, got abused [by the, 'police'] and then that made their ex's want to hurt them even more. Only difference was that their ex's now had armed police helping with the abuse. How rotten is that? And I don't mean the women for we all get emotional, but the cops? Do they realise just how rotten they look now? They're supposed to be professionals.
Here's the link, if it's needed: http://www.csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm
There are about 4 times as many male victims of domestic violence. Why, then, won't the government give them any help?
How do we spell discrimination?

I was a District Court Clerk for 9 years and yes there are reported domestic violence against men. Much more than people realize, but I don't agree that Women were more agressive. I read the link that you provided and it's bias in some cases. For example, one case studied 13 year old girls and boys. You will have to admit that at the age they will run up and punch a boy sometimes to get their attention, the same way boys will do to the girl. And the article stated "their partners" at age 13 they have partners? :) I don't think so.
Another thing I noticed was whomever wrote that paper was trying to show his view that men were victims of domestic violence much more than women. I believe there are studies that could prove that the opposite is true. I'm not saying that women are victims of domestic violence more than men, I'm just saying that the study at the above mentioned link was slanted.
Here is what I observed from 9 years of court documents, pleas, trials and just my every day observance. In my court we had a equal number of men and women. Sometimes the woman would file charges against a man. If it turned out that the women was the agressor, the Judge would dismiss the case. Then tell the man to go file charges against her. Usually the man would decline to do so. The Judge I worked for would talk to the couple, telling them they needed to get marital help or get out of the marriage. He would tell the woman that if he saw them back in court then he would put her in jail for 30 days. I want to say something that most people do not understand because the only court cases they hear about are using felonies and national headlines, the majority of domestic abuse case come through District Court which is a misdameanor.
In my years in the judicial system, the majority of time the truth comes out. Even if the woman gets on the stand crying and moaning about the man, when it's his turn we sometimes hear a different story. I want to say we could tell who was lying. People aren't as good at lying as they or most people would think. You can see it in their eyes, in their manner, in the way they answer the questions.
You may argue that maybe my Judge was fairer than most Judges, I don't believe that. We have Judges/Clerks continuing education classes to prepare us, so that we may do a better job of protecting the welfare of men and women.
One other note, we had quite a few more woman to woman fighting coming through our court. But we live in Arkansas and you get some "country" girls together and they fight hard. Boys too but the girls use their nails, pulling hair, kicking, screaming, just all around fighting at a significant level.
Our police are here to protect us all. Can you imagine what they have to deal with on a daily bases? To be honest in many areas now there are drugs involved especially in rural area's like Arkansas where meth is a big problem. It's cheap, easy to make, inexpensive and highly addicting. This drug causes men and women to make terrible judgments in their actions and in turn multiplies the abusive behavior.
My conclusion is I don't think there is one accurate count of men verses women on issues such as domestic violence because we have no idea on how many cases are handle without the police. You asked 'why won't the government give them any help' there is help available but most of the men won't take the help that is offered.
We spell discrimination in so many ways, women, African Americans, Middle Easterners, Age, and yes men as well.

As a lady, the courtroom and police officials are of direction on the female's part. They without delay assume that the female is telling the reality even as she says that SHE is the only being abused; the finished theory of innocuous till shown accountable is tossed aside. the in common words element you should do to conflict it is document each incident (time, date, area, and precisely what got here about), get a criminal specialist, and get a restraining order to ascertain a trend of violence. you want to take images every time she bruises you or the little ones. back, document each thing. you could also call the manager of police to ask if their habit is known technique or if those are purely rogue police officials. for sure, then you truthfully take the step of likely pissing them off extra... good success dude, there are too many fathers erroneously stripped of their parental rights and duties.

I don't hear too many stories about abusive wives. Usually its assumed that the abuser is male because men are stronger, larger, and more known for violent tendencies. I could be wrong, but 4 times more male victims than female? That seems really unrealistic.

Hmm...I agree with you. Males are victims just as well....
But as for my father, he got custody of me. The police were very understanding and didn't take a side right away. But I live in a small town....

Well, I have seen the problem successfully solved this way:
Restraining order.
Children services was brought in and interviewed the children and the children were given their own court attorney. Dad got custody and house, mom got 2 hours visits with supervision.
