You should go. Just use the bathroom or something during the scary parts. If it's dark you could close your eyes and no one would see. You could turn your head and look at them. If they ask why your looking at them say, "Oh I've already seen this, I just wanted to see if you'd get scared" =)
If they ask if you all want to see it, vote for another movie. Say, "I've already seen that, can we watch something else?"
Go and have fun =) The movie's only like 90 min long. You'll have fun the rest of the time.
Btw - Ignore the jerks. It's ok to be scared of things. There are still things that scare me and I'm 25 =) Also, my best friend who's 23 won't watch scary movies with me. It's ok, so don't worry if someone finds out and teases you. I mean, I tease my friend about it but then she teases me about stuff too. That's what friends do...I guess it's a sign of affection...trying to coax someone out of their fears. =)

well !that is more of psychological problem than a movie problem.
it depends upon your age.
if you are below the age of adolscence, then, you may not go to watch the movie, because i m surethat what happened the first time will happen again.
instead tell your friend about your fears. if she is a true and genuine friend, she will understand.
nevertheless, if you are a teenager, then, i guess you can give it a shot. a person would be scared to watch POTC only if he or she doesn't understand the plt or the humor of the film. But, if you can then there is no reason to be afraid.
if still you don't feel like going.........just make an excuse,or tell your mama about your problem, she would certainly do the job for you.
take care
bye!

What you should do depends on your friend. It may be much easier on you now to come up with something to tell your friend when you let her know you're not coming. It may be easier in the long run to tell her that the movie scares you. I don't know how old you guys are, but she shouldn't be laughing at you for being afraid of a movie. And if she's your best friend, she won't seriously think it's silly. If you decide to tell her that the movie scares you, you can offer to bring your own movie as a substitute, if you like.

Dear,
Things always feel as we think of them. Tell yourself that it's just a movie and try to laugh at the funny lines that Jack always make. !
Ask for your friends support and try to have something you like (drink or food) while watching. You should face it there and remember that you can do it and it could be scary at the beginning but it will be just another movie later.
Go to movie www pages and grow your interest by reading reviews and people's opinions..
I wish I could help more but this is what's in mind now..
god bless.

Go watch the movie and remember it is a funny movie not a scary movie. I usually get really scared watching scary movies and I didn't even think of that movie as scary. If you have to go out of the room at the scary parts.

You shouldn't do things you don't feel comfortable just to please people. They shall love you by what you are. I personally find lovely you are scared by that movie.
If you are really willing to go and watch it, try thinking about the clothes of the actors, and how they managed to set up the backgrounds, the make up, building the ships, drawing the skelies, and how funny is Johnny Depp walking, try taking a break in the scary parts, the second time it isn't so scary.

Go because you can have fun,
things you can do to help
if you watch the movie
1)leave during the scary parts
2)close your eyes during the scary parts
3) tell yourself it is just a movie and it is not real
But you can also try to steer the party away from the movie.
take another movie and offer it up for suggetion
take a board game to play
suggest calling guys you like
play other sleep over game that take all night

i don't think it will be as scary the second time around, because you will know what is coming - you can close your eyes or something.
You can also be really helpful by refilling peoples cokes or popcorn or something when you know a scary part is coming up.
I am sort of confused, though. Your BEST friend doesn't know how scared this movie made you? Or she knows this and picked this movie anyway?

If she is your best friend, then she should respect your fears, which are cetainly real to you. Why do you think she will laugh at you? Just tell her that the movie has parts that disturb you, and though you really want to sleepover, you won't be able to if that is the movie they are going to watch. Then, suggest a few good alternatives.
