Five thousand million years ago, there was nothing in our corner of the universe except a great cloud or nebula, of gases and dust. Over a period the nebula began to collapse under gravitational forces. The gas and dust gradually came together to form a thicker and thicker mass. As the nebula collapsed, it began to rotate, getting faster and faster and thus turned into a spinning disc and was thickest at the centre. The central core of the disc became the sun and outer rings other planets including earth. The ones closer to sun could not retain the cooler gas masses because temperature was very high. Hence these planets venus, mars, earth all have rocky surfaces where dust settled more than gas. Those in the outer ring are called Jovian planets namely Jupiter, Uranus etc., and have more of the gaseous substance. Ref: Space by Robbin Kerrod.

the earth was not created by an explosion. the universe is thought to have been created by an explosion (The Big Bang)... the gases and other materials blasted forward and created stars. Our tiny little solar system was created by the remnants of the gas and debris from our star's (The Sun's) development...

and we do not know what created atoms, if you're religious you'd say it was "God," but if you're a scientist like me you it is unknown

That's not accurate, the universe started with big bang, then solar sistem was formed by gravity and so earth appeared.
What gave place to the big bang? Entropy, main force in the universe.
