Are we racists?

~I got this emailed to me I'm not saying that I agree with it completely ~ So please don’t take it out on me just state how this makes you feel whatever color you might be~

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You call me "Whiteboy", "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey"
and you think it's OK.

But when I call you, ******, Kike, Towelhead,
Sand-******, Camel Jockey, Beaner, ****, or Chink you
call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against
you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places
to live?
You have the United ***** College Fund. You have
Martin Luther King Da y. You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah You
have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP. You have BET.

If we had WET(white entertainment television) we'd be
racists.

If we had a White Pride Day you would call us racists.


If we had white history month, we'd be racists.
If we had an organization for only whites to "advance"
our lives, we'd be racists.

If we had a college fund that only gave white student s
scholarships, you know we'd be racists.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in
the US, yet if there were "White colleges" that would
be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were
marching for your race and rights. If we marched for
our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange,
and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we
announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a
white police officer shoots a black gang member or
beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and
posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud.

But, you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Sure... it exists, but how responsible for it am I?

Me being white, if I go into the Ghetto, and get called things... I should expect it. I put myself in a place where racism exists on extreme stereo types. If your black, you should avoid hick towns.
Sure, you might have to go thru one and have no choice, but you know it exists there, you know you will encounter it, you know you cant change it, why get mad?

If some one is racist, it means they lack understanding and compassion. You should have enough compassion and understanding to rise above this behavior. Just shrug it all off.
They know not what they do. If I didnt have too, and went to the ghetto, and got shot at, or called cracker.... I should just realize, that I set myself up for it. If im at school, and have no way to avoid those people...I should just ignore it.
Prejudice is the word you are looking for.
Evil exists everwhere, I cant run from it, So i should just be the bigger man that Im supposed to be for not being prejudice, and ignore it all. It only exists if I react to it.
Sure... you can go to redneckville USA, but how much can I really ***** about it if I knew it was there and would be trouble.
I just cant see getting upset about racism or prejudice. People dont understand what they do. The more I allow those mindless people to upset me, the more they are making themselves feel valid. Its our job to accept that it wont go away, and be the bigger person by accepting our situation as our doing, and not by blaming others for not knowing what they do, and for us "reacting" to something we knew was there and gonna happen.

Yes, we are all racists. I agree with the observations in your entry, and I believe the reason it is allowed is that non-whites had to have those groups at one time, to have a presence in our society.
Nowadays, I think it is quite racist to have the NAACP and "Black" colleges and BET, and Indian hospitals, but they will continue because no one wants to live with the "racist" tag.
For myself, I refuse to answer race questions. I check "other" when asked, since I have no real facts to prove that I am not part indian or black or whatever. I look peach- colored, not white or brown.
I try to erase any racist thinking from myself and my friends. I don't tolerate racist jokes or remarks from anyone.
I think racism is hate, so to prove you can be better than SOMEBODY. A lot of blacks have chips on their shoulders, and I surely understand why. I think it is time to stop teaching our children-black, white, and in-between-to be victims and give them real independence, integrity, and education.
I don't need to be better than anybody else. I am fine.

I don't believe that only whites can be racist. And I don't believe that having pride in your race (whatever it may be) equates racism. Black/white/Hispanic/Asian/etc. pride is about celebrating our own individuality and our own cultures. It becomes racist when the whole thing is about putting down another race. It becomes racist the minute you hear, "Those *group of people* are inferior to US." or something like that.

I used to get angry about how other people got stuff that I didn't. Here's my thoughts, now. We don't call it 'WET', but every channel that isn't BET is WET. They have one day (MLK Day) we have 364 days. The absence of these exceptions that blacks claim, is ours. They don't call it out for whites, because how would it look if we called 364 days of the year for the white man? If we called every TV channel the white man's channel? Perhaps if we did, people would realize how much stuff whit people DO have control over, an dtry to get even more. BTW, with the enron scandals, and other white collar crimes out there, I'll cut through the ghetto anyday, to bypass the financial districts. Afterall, a gangbanger can only rob you of what you have on you for that day. Enron robbed people of their FUTURES.

that guy is racist too. im white and im aware of all the anti-white racist stuff going on around me and he has a point, but he was talking to "you" in reference to the whole black race which is racist as well. what does piss me off is that there is this thing called the latino club at my school and if we had the caucasian club im not sure taht would fly.

look it up ......from my understanding from talking to alot of younger whites they don't understand the racism of their fore fathers back in the 50s and 60s ...that letter makes no sense you could spend days exposing the lye's in it but
it was meant to antagonize if you believe those things in it
your ignorance reach far beyond that of blacks that's partially our fault because we glorify those things in rap music
but if crime is only commit by blacks as implied
talk to the 5ft 9 inch little white kid who went to jail and was raped by the 6 foot 5 200 pound member of the arian brotherhood

who ever wrote this is racist: "You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us" white people rob shoot and car jack too. and the reason we have black history month is because whites i.e. slave owners erased blacks history by forbiding them to read and write. the only reason they have this stuff is whites didnt allow them to have it before and they are trying to make sure it dosnt happen again

We all have a little racism in us whether we like it or not, its always going to be like that because society makes us this way even if we don't like it, and sometimes we don't know were this way, i also agree with the comments of Night and Gamer, thanks guys for those answers
